The grade 5 and 5/6 classes will be receiving their Lifesaver First Aid certificates from St. Johns Ambulance.
The students participated in a full day of instruction and hands-on training with an emergency room nurse and a qualified first aid teacher. The children learned how to deal with everything from scrapes and burns to choking, allergic reactions, and how to perform CPR.
The PAC financed this program to give students the preparation they need to be classroom monitors, teachers assistants in the event of emergency, and for simply equipping them with valuable life skills that will benefit the whole community.
So far this year, the PAC has funded some great activities: tennis, ice skating, Art Starts, a performance from the Vancouver Opera, Milton Randall drumming, and more.
